The next Disney Lorcana expansion has been announced as Shimmering Skies, which will be the fifth set for the popular collectible trading card game. As always, the set will be adding a variety of new cards and characters, featured across Starter Decks, booster packs, a new Illumineer’s Trove, and more. Shimmering Skies follows up on the recent release of Ursula’s Return, which added new mechanics like cards cooperating on songs and gave the evil sea witch her time to shine.
After the ultimate victory over Ursula, Shimmering Skies features the Illumineers seeking out a way to fix the damage that she caused. Joining the cause are characters from Wreck-It Ralph and more along with returning favorites, from Elsa to Donald Duck. There are also some interesting surprises among the new offerings, like a crossover promotion with the board game Disney Villainous that could be of particular interest to those who enjoy both games.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An exclusive foil Disney Lorcana: Shimmering Skies card coming to Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil will be available slightly earlier on August 1, 2024, releasing in select major retailers along with local game stores.
Although the early days of Disney Lorcana were plagued by stock issues, recent expansions have been more stable, so it shouldn’t be difficult to pick up Shimmering Skies.
