Engineering Updates

Hey guys, Edmund from support here. Our engineering team has recently made the following changes to the system.

Quick disclaimer, we are aware of other tickets raised by you, the members and even our internal team. All tickets go through the support team for testing to the best of our abilities before being deployed. The below is a selection of tickets resolved recently, there are more still being worked on which we are trying to deploy as quickly as possible when they are ready.

Online Checkout fix if a customer tries to buy an item that recently went out of stock

What we noticed was that if customers had placed items in their shopping carts on your webstore, and did not check them out, if those items were subsequently sold to other customers, then the previous customer carts had the potential to fail on checkout.

We reviewed the overall checkout experience where on those occasions when the items in a cart aren’t available to be checked out, the website will instead inform the customer about the items out of stock, and which items they were that were out of stock.

This will give your customers the ability to remove the out of stock items and keep the items that are in stock in their cart.

As a quick example, the below shows the checkout page for a Force of Will Booster Box. On going to checkout, the item just became out of stock having been sold to someone else, and now the customer gets a notification to inform them of this.

Refer a Friend – adjusting how much is paid out in Store Credit to the ‘referrer’

For those who use the Refer a friend feature, you will notice you can set the coupon amount that the ‘friend’ will receive on their store order, and that the ‘referrer’ would always get 10% back in store credit based on the amount of the ‘friends’ order.

This 10% was original not editable. However, we’ve updated the system so that you can adjust this now. The default is always 10%, but now you can increase or decrease this amount.

Please click here for more information on the refer a friend feature.

Endicia receipt numbers were sometimes sent to TCGPlayer as tracking numbers

It was noticed that when printing 1st Class mailing items through endicia to fulfil TCGPlayer orders, sometimes the Endicia receipt number would be attached to the tracking number and sent to TCGPlayer. This shouldn’t happen and our engineers have said that this is resolved.

Ability to search for Infinite quantity items

Some of our members do use the Infinite Quantity options to make an item never be out of stock (maybe you live close by to a game distributor and have easy access to card Sleeves, deck boxes etc to restock at short notice). But it has been very difficult to find out which items you have set to infinite quantity if you did not keep a track of them.

We’ve added an additional checkbox to look for these items now. Under your Inventory > Products tab, if you view the Variant Filters section, you will notice there is an addition checkbox, Has infinite qty

By checking this box, then hitting the search button, this will reveal all your products that have the infinite qty checkbox enabled.

Fixed text alignment for the Product Types section

I had noticed that the Name section for the Product Type Descriptors was positioned incorrectly (which made reading the descriptors really difficult). Quick fix on this was implemented so that the text are more aligned.

Those are the recent updates we have so far, I’m expecting more tickets to be tested in the days and weeks to come (some of which we have sent back to the engineering team for review). We hope to deliver them out as quickly as possible, but please let us know if you have any questions to the fixes above or if there are additional bugs or features that you want to make sure our engineering team is aware of.
